Skin cancer is a significant health concern. In the US, nearly 3 million people each year are diagnosed with nonmelanoma skin cancers and nearly 200,000 will be diagnosed with melanoma. Estimates are that 1 in 5 Americans will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer in their lifetime and that one person dies from melanoma every hour. The vast majority of skin cancer cases, upwards of 90 percent, are caused by exposure to UV rays from the sun. Since faces are the most regularly exposed to these harmful rays, it’s no surprise that skin cancer on the face is extremely common. The good news is that skin cancer survival rates are very high. Patients diagnosed with skin cancer early have a number of different treatment options available.

The Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery (SCARs) centers are facilities designed to provide complete skin cancer management. In one location, each patient can receive the following:

  • Complete and thorough medical examinations
  • Mohs surgeries to remove and analyze cancerous lesions
  • Non-surgical treatments for cancer, such as radiation
  • Reconstructive surgeries and procedures to repair areas of the face damaged by the cancer and cancer treatments
  • Complete aftercare services, such as scar management, skin care, and facial rejuvenation

Our treatment centers in Newport Beach and Orange County are each designed to provide the best specialists and the best care for every patient in one convenient location.
